On Soul Music, by Terry Pratchett, Some Thoughts. I am not doing any formal course, just writing for pleasure in later life. I have made the link between this book and some of the current affairs headlines at the time (especially the Romanian orphanages, and a BBC documentary about Boarding School Syndrome), my own interests in this area as a former residential social worker, and as a childhood reader of so-called girls novels. Sadly the only fantasy I came across as a young reader was Tolkien. Times have moved on. Better late than never.
